Before Lucas Silva heads back to Madrid, he went on Brazil’s SporTV to discuss his current situation with Real Madrid, mainly the prospect of being loaned out. “Leaving on loan to play more is a possibility. There are also too many non-EU players at Real Madrid”, he said. Real Madrid are currently one player over the non-EU rule, so he may be the odd one out.
Lucas said he will have a meeting with manager Rafa Benítez to discuss his future. Although a few clubs have reportedly shown their interest, Madrid are said to prefer a move within Spain.
Silva says nothing is concrete at this point. “A lot of stuff has been published but it’s all speculation. When I get to Madrid, I’ll start the pre-season and I’ll find out more about my future. What I have in mind at the moment is to carry on at Madrid.”
